It
was another classic game between the two teams with the
typically powerful offenses being slowed a bit. In the bottom
of the second inning En Fuego trailed 4-2 when En Fuego
pitcher Craig Watkins belted a
two-run home run to even the score. In the top half of the
third, Watkins held Stac Pac scoreless and the team rallied
for five runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 9-4
lead. The Pac rallied back to come within one run, but En
Fuego held the lead the rest of the way to edge Stac Pac for
the win. “All you have to do is score one more than the
other team for the win.” Said En Fuego outfielder Corrie
Willkie who collected three hits in the game. “It’s
better to be lucky than good as they say.” Said Watkins.
Watkins led the way with three RBI in the game and with the
help of some solid defense behind him pitched his way to the
team’s fifth straight win in the Tuesday night league.
