Verdi came to En Fuego in the summer of 2001
and found it tough to earn the role of clean-up hitter for his new
team. After a few seasons he worked his way into the fourth
spot in the line-up and hasn’t looked back. With deceptive
power, Verdi can touch them all with one swing of the bat as well as
stroke the line drive to the gap for a double.
He is an integral part of the team but not only
as an offensive weapon.
He has
been a main-stay in leftfield since 2002 for En Fuego. Verdi has
moved his way up into the top five all-time in several En Fuego
offensive categories.
En Fuego’s success in tournament play is in
large part due to Verdi’s presence with the ball club, which is
shown by his multiple all-tournament team selections including being
named the Most Valuable Player in the 2004 SCMAF Tournament of
Champions in Palm Springs / Simi Valley.
