England has been with En Fuego since the
inception of the franchise in 1995 and played in 281 of the team's
first 283 games. His Iron Man Streak of playing in 212
straight En Fuego games is still a club record today. He has
anchored an infield defense playing more games at third base than
any other player in club history. He has been a consistent
presence on the En Fuego roster playing in the fourth most games all-time and has made several all-tournament teams.
He also co-managed the team with Craig Watkins
for a few seasons after En Fuego’s first manager Jason Teague
abruptly retired in 1997. England along with Watkins has kept
and compiled all of the team’s statistics over the years.
England is the driving force behind the team’s website, enfuegosoftball.com.
Nicknamed “Beezer” after the great NHL
hockey goalie John “Beezer” Vanbiesbrouck, because of his
ability to shut down the “hot corner” with his intense style of
gold glove play; England has been a leader for En Fuego throughout
his career.
