Petruzzi has been with En Fuego since its
inception in 1995. An outstanding defensive centerfielder with great
speed, he has roamed the outfield for En Fuego in more games than
any other player in team history. Vinny, as he is called by
teammates, has also won several team MVP awards and has been an
all-tournament selection multiple times in his career.
On July 21st, 2005 he became the second player
in team history to reach 1000 hits. He ranks among the
top five in many career offensive categories including hits,
runs, walks, and doubles.
The veteran outfielder, a core member of En
Fuego, bleeds the red and black. In 1995 he along with former
manager Jason Teague established the team and assembled the initial
personnel and named it “En Fuego” after ESPN sports anchor Dan
Patrick’s phrase, “Dare I say…En Fuego?”
